• :waves: morning flower  minibee has informed me that he is busy on sunday (girlfriend wins! - i remember doing similar to my parents) but to ring him when i'm london bound! think i might be off to see vincent instead, really don't want to miss that one.have you been yet? looks like it might be another chilly one stay warm and have a wonderful day :sunflower
• Hey Ma, yes I'll be in Brighton on Sunday busily working on my tax return and a conference paper. Will PM you my mobile number in case you make it down. And in answer to your earlier question - no, I wasn't banished, just taken into a dark alley by a couple of the mods with baseball bats. Only just recovered the ability to use a key board. ;) :D
• :hippy: good morning lovely! :waves: have a wonderful (and sunny if poss!) day :sunflower ps i'm coming to london on sunday but i might head down to brighton for a flying visit. are you around? will know later...

• :waves: morning flower :flower: i'm feeling quite :bounce: this morning - good nights kip makes a difference, eh? :sunflowerhave a beautiful day :hippy:
• hi you! well this is a shock (wave rider )!!! thought you'd been banished or something!!! ah the return to work after a break - yes i know about that - it seems like i can't get out of the office at times as i keep being cornered for appointments and on the spot quick consultations. it's making sure all the paperwork is done before i leave for home without interruptions that is almost impossible and then ends up taking so much time. may be down in brighton in a couple of weeks...not sure yet. frankly i'd prefer a week in morocco but that is't going to happen, so am working on plan b, b - for brighton. really good to hear from you btw. h took that one of me with the phone. turned out not bad - at least i have a head in this one! xxx
• :waves: morning flower! :flower: have a wonderful week.......
• I'm sure it will, thanks! :D Hope yer work goes quickly and easily!
• Morning SWR! glad that you are surviving down there - it has all got really quiet snow wise here but the ice on the pavements is just the same, if not getting worse. it's that melt /freeze thing. i am concerned about mini bee as i haven't been able to get hold of him. just a mummy thing - he's probably fine - captain sensible anyway. we are due more snow today - i think most of the country is. rook and aunty al dropped by for tea yesterday lovley to see them. am hoping that school will be open mon as i really want to get back to work. i have got writing to do which i brought home, my boss put citrix on my laptop - just great to have a flexible boss. thye have been keeping the schools closed because the playgrounds are unsafe??? having gone to school in rural scotland we used to make all sorts of semi lethal activities in the snow at break time and it was great fun.......h s e rules gone silly. have a lovely day anyway....
• Hiya,:waves: I noticed this whilst posting on bee's wall....
The '63 winter is remembered in my family as the time my Mum got double pneumonia while pregnant, poor thing.
Exactly the same thing happened to my Mum!! She was heavily pregnant with my younger sister (who was born in Feb '63), and she slipped and fell on ice on the garden path, then, developed pneumonia and was extremely poorly!! I was only 3 at the time so don't remember much about it, but I do remember we seemed to have fairly heavy snow every year. Our Mums' were a hardy bunch, weren't they?
• having just come out of the other side of pneumonia that can't have been fun. yes we do put ourselves through silliness but it tends to be self inflicted cos we pay no attention to all the flashing signs that say slow down, take a break, what the hell are you getting all unnecessary for etc. your neighbour is a star. i miss living in a place where people have a community spirit - cities can be so faceless...
• yes it does - we were living in the scottish borders then. it also reminds me of the late 70's when i was a student and in edinburgh peeps were skiing in the city centre!!! i don't know why we make such a fuss really. i do wish there was a bit more community spirit tho and that people would help clean the pavement outside their houses etc rather than rely on the council- it would make life so much simpler. i had a go yesterday with h but the ice is so compacted i couldn't shift it!!!
• :waves: yoo hoo!!!! :sunflower morning morning lovely SWR! have a happy saturday :peace:
• :flower: morning lovely!:sunflowerno school again for h :xcoolsnow i have decided that i am going to clear the pavement outside out flat today :xsnowface it's thick ice and at least there will be a bit of pavement that peeps can walk on safely :xdeer: have a lovely day - and keep warm :monster:

Uni officially reopens tomorrow and I'm aghast at the pile of work I meant to do over the vac and haven't touched - exams to write, lecture notes to prepare etc etc. Think I'll be keeping a low profile for a wee while. Hope you have a nice relaxing Sunday though.
