The Louse will be going to it's new owner on Monday..
She is going to a great person so I am happy...
Right the Louse is now back on ebay.
As said before if someone on here wants to make her a home then I will accept the first offer over 10k.
She is more than worth that but I need to get a move on and get myself out of the UK asap.
She is lovely and warm at all times currently because the fire has not really been off for months..
Hope everyone is well...
You could by my van for less than 13k.
Needs very little cosmetic work to finish..
I live in it full-time and love it but plans have changed and I won't see the end of 2014 in the UK..
And nearly 13ft heigh I think.
I even go the Supermarket carpark in it.
thanks for your kind comments girls..
The Louse is still for sale, i currently park between B13, WA7 and WA4 so a viewing/ coffee appointment can be made in either location.
I don't have another place to live when she sells other than move in with the missus temporary so I am not in a rush and wont accept silly offers.
I would love to see her go to someone here and be a nice home for someone just like she is for me.
If not sold before the end of Feb I might do the planned back conversion and put her on ebay in spring.
I still think it could do with some sky lights / sunroofs. How much are you asking
Haha lol.. Skylights require maintenance though and are a leaking hazard in my experience..
Although i love staring at the sky at night.
Specially when u cant sleep
I am open to offers over 10k through the site. It's basically what it's cost us.
Was looking for 12.5k on ebay but might convert the back and bed just so I can earn a few quit too seen as I put a lot of work into it.
I am gutted to see our home/ this one specially go but i'll/ we'll build a new one asap once across the water..
I am still confused lol
My louse has plenty of windows (and curtains too) scroll back in the thread and u'll see.. I have been living in her for months.
The fire has not been off for ages.. Lol
She is actually for sale seen as I going further away then I can take her.
This stove is still here?
Jeez can't believe it has not yet sold it's so damn nice.
Aluminium will throw all heat out no problem but I would advice not to tile on top of it.
Tiles absorb heat ally reflects it, why ruin the wonderful properties of alluminium by putting tiles on top?
Just use masterboars or supalux and clad it with aluminium.
I used air-gap, supalux, aluminium.
Works a treat.
Have a look at my build threat. (New house on wheeels) i think it is
People just like to ask silly quesrions haha
Nice hiding away for christmas..
Best wishes for 2014 everyone..
I cant continue with my existing business as it requires a phone line.
Hi boxvan yeah sounds like a good idea.
Mountain air , had to laugh though!
you know that phones are mobile those days right?
You can get a landline number for your mobile too those days or even externally managed landline numbers and you get the messages in an e-mail or they put the customer through.
can't you keep doing what you do with mobile broadband?
Would that not be easier rather then look for a new venture?
My Louse is for sale so I'd be happy to put it on there
Thanks mate, I am very sad to see her go but on the other hand life is taking a direction that will be much better in the long run.
I hope she goes to a good home so someone can enjoy all the hard work that has gone into her and love her as a home as much as I do..
With sadness in my heart I am now putting my home up for sale.
If you have followed the build thread (my new house on wheels, start to finish) in Nomadic Living, you'll know how much money has been spend and how many hours have gone into getting this lorry to be a comfy home.
I need my money (investment) back and no more than that, so basically the first offer over 10k will be accepted. All my hours off work are for free.
PX for a (1978 - 1981) Shovelhead Harley Davidson will be considered.
The Lorry - Truck - boxvan (whatever you want to call it)
X-reg (2000) Renault Midlum 7.5t truck with a 20ft box.
The vehicle was owned by a transport company and converted into a motox camper in 2006 as far as I am aware.
She has a long MOT (class 4) and a few months tax. (£165 per year)
Starts, drives and stops spot on as it should, I do a fair few miles and have not had any problems. *Touch wood ;)*
She has done about 225k miles so pretty low for the year and make.
She is a pretty modern vehicle compared to a lot of converted boxes out there so with a little maintenance upkeep you should have no issues for years to come.
Being a straight box and not a luton means that you can still tilt the cab so if work needs to be done this is easy and no hassle.
I got the truck a few months back with a lot of damp and other little problems.
I ripped a lot of walls out, dried them, re-insulated them and then used wood to cladd them.
I fixed all the water issues so there is now hot and cold running water and all electrics work.
2 leisure batteries and a kw generator plenty to live off.
A bathroom with shower and a cassete toilet.
There is a full size kitchen with gas 4 burner stove and oven and the loft bedroom has a full kingsize bed.
The lounge room has a nice wooden floor and a "julianthegypsy" special woodburning stove with oven in the top to keep the place warm and cosy even in this weather and save on gas for cooking.
The back has a garage that is used for storage at the moment, i was going to rip through and but the bed on pulleys to create even more living space.
The whole roof has been re-sealed and weatherproofed.
No money has been spared because I build this with the intention of living in it for years to come.
Changes in my life however mean I am going overseas soon-ish so I will have to build another once I get there..
Anyway have a look at the pictures below and make up your own mind please.
There are bits that need doing but they are just finishing touches, you can move straight in.
I am still living in the van so proper arrangements have to be made for pick-up and payment via bank transfer.
If you want to come and view the van I am currently in Birmingham (B13) pm me for my number to arrange a day and time to pop round for a nice cuppa.
Peace & Love
Ohh do you have a picture of your set up?
I am thinking if i build runners with garge door wheels (or any type of runner wheels) on the corners of the bed then it can only go 1 way up and then over into the "slotted" area.
So the pulleys are only to assist with the lifting - lowering of the bed..
I have plenty of height to work with so that is not a problem.
I'll have to think it through as I will need to strip and build in less than a week haha..
It will give me pretty much another room though so should be good..
It's been a while since I posted in this thread seen as not much has happened.
Once I have earned some pounds the next few weeks I am going to make some more changes to the Louse.
Even though I will have to sell the truck next year most likely i want to make a few more improvements.
The plan is to strip the bed and storage area out, (sleep on the floor a few nights) and insulate and clad the back area.
My kingsize will then go and I am going to make an double sized bed that is going to be movable (up and down)
The back will then get build in upboards and a fold away dining table. For eating working on sitting on etc.
when folded away it will give floorspace for the kids to play or have a bed at night.
In the day the new bedframe will be raised to just underneath the roof so that I have "full" hight standing space and at night it will drop down resting on the cupboards either side for sleeping.
This way the living space becomes the full 20ft of the truck, there will still be plenty of storage but it will feel a lot bigger..
I am surprised this still has not sold.
7.5 tonne Renault box truck does about 20 combined
Hehe I know was only messing mate.
So I am "serveral other people" now ay..
But seriously I seen the fire when I was at Julian's and it's a gorgeous lookin fire..!
True piece of art. Someone is getring a bargain there
1 mm or 0.8 i think.
