Reason being is there's the mainstream, and the mainstream has the/an alternative to run to, veer, get drawn towards to be part or wholly of because being alternative has more to offer appeals more that attracts folk , so what about those under the wide banner of the alternative, that being many varieties, but what about an alternatives alternative, as the alternative might not be alternative enough or got too stale and or dont feel all that at home in the once removed alternative from the main stream. I've created my own version of alternative as those that have embraced the ideas about it have also done in lesser or greater degrees.

All the way through histoiry, there's always been breakaway groups from some group or organisation like a new politoical party emerging, a trade union splitting and a breakaway group or a company splitting, folk on a forum leaving in a group and statrting a new one.

The alternative has become quite a bit mainstream, the norm etc, as its become far more widely acceptable, which is amazing really , once something is embraced and accepted by main stream society then that makes it easier to live and do and be, perhaps its time for the alternative to really split and a fresh new thing/movement arises to take thing as even further towards a more accepting loving kind human race, it isnt all done by hugs and kisses, folk have had to fight over the decades. The new emergences of a newer form of alternative has been buzzing and its quite hardcore, real on it environmentalism, a generation of youngsters who have emerged more advanced again in mind body and spirit with a force to reckon with to grow into a more aware spitirually awake species, the growth in veganism being one, people want their voice heard now and the youngster generations are clammering to live and be the changhe they want to see, this is very evident at most of the EDM festi's and raves, its a world wode movement thats cleasring the ashes after leaping out of them and the mainstream is taking notice, its exiting energised times for this amongst the doom and gloom out there.

As far as this version of the forum goes, appeal to this and the youngsters then it could be going somewhere, dont appeal to it for thery are into and the energy and passion they have then it'll be a retirement home for those of us that are not rolling with this new tide.

I see it a lot, folk in the alternative scene, just plodding along through life like they are resigned to what they know or tired and feel beaten and down trodden and their battle lost, given the way things are with trying to get land, live off grid, grow your own goes and the laws that prevent it, the expensive route to getting a vehicle or a boat, its no wonder folk get ground down. I feel the rush of the future and its full of bright energy and hope amongst folk, appeal more to this and it could make a change here, its people it needs and it has to appeal to whats going on out there, it needs to be brighter with more to offer with a wider scope of topics etc, not just what older folk are into.

Just typing off the cuff here unplanned but without suggestions nothing can change.

  • The word "alternative" is just too fucking long to add any more words to it (11 characters) -- I mean we're already on 17 characters with cc before we even get to the .com :D

  • Summed it there

There is no alternative, not like there used to be.Alternative 20 or more years back meant not mainstream, now theres alternatives to everything.

Extreme was another term applied to set aside stuff from the mundane. Now thats used in all kinds of non extreme activities...extreme knitting anyone.?

Definitely more of a desire in youngsters to do something about their future theyve been left.

The sense 'fuck off you oldies you fucked it up for us,its our world now.' is more apparent in some. Rebellion is brewing,I think governments already know that and why theyre crscking down on internet freedoms under the guise of privacy and protecting children and regulating porn...its all bollox, theyre shit scared of what's brewing.

The kids will create their own scene they wont wait for oldies and they won't trust our generation anyway...but you have to try to bridge gaps.

Bernie Sanders knows that and despite his age is loved by the kids of America because hes concerned for them and their future.

As for site names i think we gonna struggle for anything new, how bout DGAF (Dont give a fuck) 😂

Di occhi belli ne è pieno il mondo,ma di occhi che ti guardano con sincerità e amore, c'è ne sono pochi. :hippy:

  • I dont the kids are too worried about offending, theyre quite outspoken.Theyre often wary of speaking out because our over PC generation police's them and threatens them with consequences to their future if they dont comply.

Yet simultaneously our generation belittles and undermines them if their arguments carry water and theyre gaining traction.

Maybe theyve learned a better way to get what they want than fighting police in the streets like our generation did and didnt achieve much doing it.

Except in France but we're not allowed to know about that because of Govt D notice.

  • I dont the kids are too worried about offending, theyre quite outspoken.

I heard an interview with the Sex Pistols where they were asking a phone-in caller if she had big tits - the caller was all "giggly" about their outrageousness. The younger generation would call that out now, claim it as offensive and demand they get de-platformed. :D

    That's what I meant.

  • Possibly...more like someone older would call it out, offence by proxy, being offended on behalf of.

People are queuing up to claim abuse they claim suffered years ago.Maybe they did and it should be called out and face the music but its the current trend to do so and for the most part affects people in their forties and fifties + not the kids and took place when mysogyny and abuse was part and parcel of the system as illustrated by the sex pistols thing and the Saville scandal.

Its professional PR agents and Celebs who are calling out non PC comment most likely because theres mileage in it gir themselves.

Kids themselvez are more savvy about their legal rights and protections these days, not a bad thing.

Protections and rights our generations put in place, not theirs nor from them protesting.

They are becoming more active though and successful lobbying ,taking government to court for environmental failures and gun control failures.

    Another today

    Good to see tbh.

Im sick of this world being run by rich old white folks and everyone told to sit down and shut up.And everyone just sitting down and shutting up.

The art of protest was looking like it had disappeared.Maybe theres hope yet.

  • My girl is 22, streetwise, and not afraid to talk with me about ANYTHING.

From my point of view 'kids' nowdays, well there is no middle ground. They either know who and what they are about and have a 'goal' in life lets say. OR, they are right little *****!

Its difficult getting a title that could attract those with a relevant 'voice'.

  • FUBAR used to be a term very used widely in the IT trade, particularly when referring to customers' woeful machines running some of most of the many versions of Windows......

Occasionally, customers would overhear, and earnestly inquire what it meant....:)

We'd tell them, quite accurately, that it was a technical definition in military terminology .....

  • A term often used in my service. The inquisitive cadets used to ask what it meant

Frequencies Utilising Broadcast Amplification Receivers was one explanation I came up with and which created some mirth when repeated to an officer by one cadet who had diligently remembered it.:insane:
