Currently I've gathered all the things in my flat together to assess and file into a keep/sell/bin category.
Now I'm no consumer, I don't buy anything new unless I absolutely have to. I don't own a TV, no desire to buy the latest trends etc.. But I love stuff! Antiques, curios, things I've made, things I know I'll struggle to find again, childhood stuff etc. And as a result my life is completely cluttered with possessions.
I've realised that it is this stuff that anchors me to this flat, to the job that pays for their preservation, and to the city all this happens in.
But why? What exactly is it all? What does it mean to own it? Is it really that important?
So I am wondering, what material possessions do you have that you can't give up, that you stubbornly drag through your life, hire vans to transport, buy insurance to protect.
How attached to them are you? Would life be better or worse without them?
(I suppose we should leave out living things like children, pets, partners etc )
