  • I'm a Naturist and spend a lot of time naked around friends etc. I honestly cant see what the issue is with being naked in public, i guess peoples aversion to nudity is cultural more than anything. I imagine a world where you can walk naked as well as wearing a Tux. Just because i'm naked i'm not forcing my penis on anyone, its up to them to avert their gaze, if they don't want to see it just as i would avert my gaze if someone wore a shirt i didn't like. What do you guys think? Do you agree or should i be burnt at the stake for being a perv in your eyes?

  • In an ideal (and slightly warmer) world of course it should be acceptable to choose to not wear clothes in public. However we don`t live in an ideal world and the reality of the situation is that laws allowing nudity in public would be abused by a minority.

When i`m out running by myself in the woods and come face to face with a naked man how do i know whether he`s there with sexual intent or not?? You need to protect yourself and sometimes that means facing the fact that some laws are there for a reason..

  • That unfortunately is the way we are conditioned to view it and behave. There will always be perverts whether they flash their bits or not, i guess if they get off by flashing their dicks at you, at least they aint raping you. I do agree with what you are saying, but also feel that because society eroticses nudity and gives it a sexual label then people will be aroused by it, unfortunately the wrong sort of people, i think attitudes will change one day.

Ah well that`s okay then! :p I`ve been flashed at and trust me it`s a very frightening experience that stays with you. I`m not against nudity i imagine it feels very liberating to run about in nature in the buff and i think that nudist areas are a great idea. As you say hopefully things will change but will be a slow process i think..

  • Unfortunately, thats how a flasher gets off, its a dominance and control thing, creating fear.

I used to teach Womens self defence (wing chun), i got some great moves against flashers....if you want to learn them, gimme a shout and i promise not to flash at you, tho naked self defence is fun ;-)

  • I'm completely uncomfortable being naked in front of myself, let alone anyone else. I wouldn't feel comfortable around naked people either. Just not my thing at all.

This... I hate the idea, especially seeing other people, and I do everything possible to avoid it.

I wonder if you would feel as safe yourself being a naturist on a prison wing, when all the prison guards are on annual leave. Thats my comparison of the kind of insecurity/fear some females may have, meeting a naked male stranger, when out for a jog in a public place.

  • It's noteable how many new members begin new threads which read just like this.
And then the reactions and then how long the threads, and indeed the members, last here. This is a very open forum but it's not a naturist forum primarily.
It makes non naturists feel uncomfortable.

    Yes this, sort of.

Nothing personal to the thread starter, but it does seem that certain lifestyles attract "soapboxy" types who join here with one single issue, and naturism really is at the top of the league in that respect.

We've had several on here over the years who seem more interested in their own agenda rather than throw themselves into the vast array of other discussions on this forum - I'd say the same about all sorts of other issues too, but it's the single-track mentality that often unnerves people.

We go out of our way to protect people's rights to free-expression, and it's not up to the individual to make anyone feel comfortable (outside the constraints of the forum rules), so naturism certainly isn't frowned upon as a lifestyle or banned as a topic.

But, it really would be better if approached a little less one-dimensionally. There's more to a person than what they wear or don't wear.

Personally speaking I'm a bit like "Yeah, you like to get naked? Well good for you but I don't really care." :D

Same! I couldn't do it either, haha... nothing against anyone who can

  • Its funny walking around naked will get you arrested, its not like your going to kill anyone!! But in all bareness if we were all young and beautiful it would be great, in truth there are some scary bodies out there that could give kids nightmares!

  • PERVERTS!

I jest! No, there is absolutely nothing at all wrong with nudity. Of course, have some decorum, don't go bending over an inch from someone's face, especially if they're currently dining at a nice restaurant, for example... but generally speaking, no, I see absolutely nothing at all wrong with it anywhere and it doesn't matter to me what kind of body you have!

I used to regularly go on what I called 'nature walks' at night where I used to live. I'd walk a little way into the fields with my backpack on until I was away from the houses, then take it all down to my wellies and go for a wander. It's so invigorating and really makes you feel one with your environment. If it's nice and dry and there aren't any hazards like brambles, broken glass and the like, going barefoot is especially grounding! Honestly, I've walked through fields and countryside at night more times than I care to remember, but doing it with no clothes on is entirely, and I mean ENTIRELY different! It's not just about being naked, it's about seriously reconnecting to your environment. Every slight wisp of breeze, every minute temperature change is felt and you almost feel a kind of energy from the trees and foliage around you, it's so wonderful!

I don't do it any more because I live in quite an urban area, although I am planning a trip to a forest for the evening of Beltane. I've done it once in the pouring rain and it wasn't too bad at all, the feeling of the rain pouring over me was delightful. I did it in the snow too, but only once... that was rather cold and as much as I tried to enjoy the snow pelting me, I didn't much, hah!

I think it's one of those 'don't knock it 'til you've tried it' kind of things, personally. :)

N.B. There was a couple who walked the length of the country nude, if I remember correctly... They were arrested a ton of times, given clothes, taken to court, won, stepped out of court, took their clothes off and continued to walk again. Funny story I read, I'd be interested to know more though. :)

  • You might be surprised! Apart from when it was snowing a blizzard, I've never really been cold, even in the rain! I've been out in hard frosts and just kept walking and not really felt that much colder than if I had rags on! ;)

Jees, lucky you, I felt just a slight breeze and I end up like David by Donatello. :o

  • I feel it escalated into a bit of humour, but NOW it has turned into something of a slanging match with a dusting of name-calling, so I'm out. Bye!

  • I can't remember saying anything about having a big one.

And I can't remember saying anything about you saying so, but it's a good job it's all still up there, eh? *Checks to make sure* Oh look, I didn't! I'm confused at the mentality of some folks in here who can't take a little bit of a joke so allow me to explain, because my humour is obviously WAAYYY too advanced for some folks to grasp:

Ayami: "Way too cold, my dick would look like an acorn"

Glen: "You don't really feel the cold that much"

Ayami: "Lucky you, I'd still feel it and end up with a small penis"

Glen: "Oh, too bad, kind of a 'walnut' situation then?" (referring to what an extremely cold adult penis would resemble in most extremely cold situations)

    Ayami: "Huh? O.o "

Glen: "Walnut, bigger than an acorn, mine won't go that small without some kind of mechanical aid..."

Etherea: "Oh, everyone's comparing penis sizes, how pathetic, allow me to name-call."

Glen: "Not sticking around to get called names"

    Ayami: "I didn't say I had a big penis"

    Glen: *facepalm*

    Alright? :)

  • My job is a photographic 'art nude' model. I travel around doing nude photoshoots. Nothing pornographic unless you count just being naked as porn. As a girl, the legalities are different for me in the UK [bar the highlands].

I have some friends that don't mind me wandering around in a state of undress/semi-undress and others that don't feel 100% comfortable. I don't 'push' my nudity on any of them, ever. In when in my own home. And when working on location, I always cover up if I hear some one coming or go over and ask them if they'd mind me working nude away from where they are but in sight.

I think as long as everyone is open and honest about these things then it's never a problem. Both for the person who wants to be nude and any one around them that doesn't. I think it's as much up to me to respect how they feel as it is for them to respect how I feel.

  • hello

interesting question...i notice a few reply's went straight to a sexual threat type response, others were based on male vanity..

i personally don't mind nudity, public or otherwise, alot of folk think a streaker at a football match is funny, but the same person walking past a school naked would be classed as a sexual deviant.

i live in a part of the world that midges are a nightmare in the summer months, so completely naked wouldn't be the most practical thing to do, male or female :S

but hey..whatever makes you happy !

  • I kind of like being naked when no ones about say in me house but thats generally on a sunday morning with like a towel round if its sunny i goes into the garden with a towel round while having an early morning cup of tea, like a scottish mate once said to me it nice to get a bit of air n feel the breeze etc. aint done the skinny dippin thing for years but its kind of still a private thing if say a family walked by you in a river i guess youd stop in it or quicky cover up.
