I've obviously been thinking that there's not nearly enough colour in my van as there should be so I've been painting my kitchen cupboards. Had to work with limited colours and I will probably paint over it and do it all over again but here's how it's looking so far…IMG_8471.jpg

I've been working hard at progressing my jewellery making skills and am pleased with progress. Next I learn jewellery soldering, I tried once this week and the torch terrifies me! Oh well, I'll learn and also become less afraid of the giant flame.

Hi - I've recently been making some earrings and also night-light holders using paper quilling techniques. The night-light holders use recycled CDs as a base.

Spoons.
We both went on a spoon carving course a couple of months ago, in Newbury.
Both got hooked on making them, so we bought a couple of knives and axes and scavenged some newly cut wood and now have a collection of spoons and spatulas., with only a few minor cuts!
I couldn’t believe how sharp you could get an axe and how it could make such intricate cuts.
I’ll post photos if anybody is interested.

I received a gift from Iceland (country not shop). It was basically a tea towel but hand painted and magnificent in colour choice. I sure as hell wasn't going to be drying dishes with it so bought some dowling to create a top and bottom and made a hanger with some bright red ribbon and wooden beads. It now has pride of place above the bed!

That’s by far the best thing one could do with those albums. It’s a really interesting Finnish. Are you going to tell us how you applied the paint to get that effect? I’m not going to dip the Renault Kangoo in a oil paint bath/swimming pool am I?

Never used a turntable though some do use a lazy susan for spinnny effects, when i say I poured it on thats the only way to describe it...
4 or 5 acrylic craft paints thinned with pva 'school glue' and water,once thinned pour each one into a single cup , maybe add a squirt of silicone/wd40 for cells , then place LP on top of cup with mixture and flip ,,,,let it sit for a minute or 2 and lift the cup ..tilt album to get full coverage then leave.
Thats the basic principle,search 'acrylic pour' on you tube , theres shitloads of tutorials but I just like to watch it happening, its great when you lift that cup (maybe with a little swipe) to see what you have just created ... -
