you have a rather naive view of childhood.

Hey, I was trying to be subtle about it :harhar:

  • my 12 yo gave up barbie long ago...but isn't interested in hair removal yet...she has discovered mascara though!!!

    Can't live without my tweezers
Shave AND clip the old hedge lol!!!

  • Back to the topic at hand,
I dont think there's anything wrong with going natural, and there's nothing inherently wrong with shaving. I admit, I do feel "uglier" when I am hairier, perhaps because I've been brainwashed by today's society and media.

Also, for a 12 year old to be worried about body hair, I think it's naive to say she should be "playing with barbies".
When I was 10 I remember shaving my entire body (dry shaving) I was in alot of pain and was too embarrassed to tell anyone what I'd done.

I see 12 year old girls who look about 17, they are too eager to follow the trends of the people they see on TV, IMHO.

  • Quote from AnnieAnne

It got me thinking. So - people of both genders, how hairy are you? Do you remove any of your body hair? If so, from where, and why?

Just my head...got tired of hair...there...plus its easier...no combing.

Shame you want 12 year olds shaving themselves when I'd sooner see them out playing football and making mud pies and being children.

  • Quote from jo_rhymes

Exedous, although having a shaved head = no combing, doesn't it also mean you have more face to wash?! :harhar:

Wash...whats this washing you speak of?? :harhar:

  • I trim downstairs but thats about it. Will shave my pits n' legs occasionally but only if I get pissed off with being too hairy which is rare :monster:

... And I quite like the beard

I don't think Jo is saying that she wants 12yo to be shaving themselves but that is just what happens these days. I agree that kids shouldn't worry about stuff like that but unfortunately they all seem in such a hurry to grow up and there is not always a lot you can do to stop them.

When I was about that age I wanted to shave my legs and my mother was very against it and said I wasn't allowed so I did it anyway with my dads razor and cut my legs pretty badly. Still got the scars. If girls are going are going to do it there is not a lot you can do to stop them and it is better to help them and let them know how to do it properly so they don't hurt themselves.

  • I love to be smooth and clean...

Had to teach my girl how to too, as she almost ripped her legs to bits with my razor! silly girl!!...just a part of growing up, i think...I shaved my brows when i was 14...so wish i hadn`t now...they never grew back right!!

    Who said what I wanted?

I'd love childhood to be innocent and golden. Kids frolicking in the mud, teenagers still playing with barbie. But that's not reality.

And to think that it is reality is naive. :)

P.S- sorry to go off topic everyone!

  • I love this thread!!
Personally, I don't shave my underarms-I lOVE my hair there, it makes me feel all womenly and lovely. But I do shave my legs-I just don't like the feeling of hair there, also I'm quite a hairy person and I have very dark/almost black hair with pale skin so it shows up easily. I was bullied when I was younger so it might be a throw back from that. But I have hairy fingers and hair everywhere really-even some on my tummy :) I also shave my toes as if I don't they are really hairy and I don't like that much.
One of the girls at my work is the same and shes got meditaranitan blood-you rekon I could use that excuse?? Hehe, Loving the hairiness!:D

  • I had an Italian girlfriend for a while, who's pubic hair started just above her knees, oh my...she was so sexy..for many reasons.

I've no preference in others..myself I shave facial hair & trim my pubic hair. Does seem a daft shame to me though, when I come across someone who thinks pubic hair is disgusting.

When I was 20 or so, my beard looked like it belonged to Worzel Gummidge, made me look older than now.
If I find a pic, I'll put it up so you can all have a good laugh;)

i shaved my legs and played footbal (believe it or not) at 12! it really isnt a bad thing, its just hair when you think about. there are worse things 12 year olds could be doing!

  • Quote from Dibdabs

I have slightly hairy nipples which I used to pluck.. I dont any more.. I dont mind it and will just have to find someone else who doesn't mind it either :)

Be careful plucking any hairs that grow around your nipples. They can grow back all inverted and get nasty.

I hate shaving. It takes forever and it all grows back too soon, and I just don't see why I should. I'll shave my legs once a month to 'refresh' myself, but I do resent doing it. It's funny that my arms are hairy and no one ever seems sickened by that, but people have made snide remarks about my hair legs before. I just wish I could say I honestly don't give a fuck and just never shave at all, but I'm not brave enough. I can deal with once a month, though.

It's all down to personal preference at the end of the day. If you choose to shave your legs and armpits every morning, then fine - you just have to ask yourself whether you're really doing it for you, or whether you do it because you feel you have to look normal and 'feminine' else people will find you revolting. I don't find myself revolting and masculine for being a bit hairy and neither does my boyfriend, so I shouldn't really care what others think.

  • girls - if your man asked you to shave all your pubic hair off, would you ?

and guys, would you ? it does increase how long your willy looks btw.

on the nudist beaches i've been on most men and women are completly shaved. i think i like that look but it does suit the summer more. i like the idea of being shaved all over in summer and let it all grow in the winter.
then come springtime you can shear yourself !

forgot to add............my 8 year old has asked about shaving her legs - i've told her when she is 16. never gonna last that long, but it buys me a few years.

nope! he can like it or lump it. I think the shaved look on both men and women is a bit weird and unnatural looking.

I'd trim for a partner ... But I wouldn't get rid of all my hair, its too uncomfortable ... I'd hope they could understand :)

  • Quote from Naeni

Not in a while, is he still bald?

i waxed him in his sleep....he doesnt know yet - i wanna see how long it takes him to notice :reddevil:

Been there, done that-don't want to look like a prepubescent child again thank you very much. I'm glad and proud to be a women, and my man likes me just the way I am.:D

  • I shave my head in the summer and let it grow out in the winter ... I actually try to grow it for as long as I can but always end up getting pissed off with it and getting rid again ... maybe this year will be different.

I also have an on/off goatee thing going on, sometimes it's there and sometimes it isn't.

I keep my pubes trimmed, but a completely bald whanger seems a bit to OTT for me ... I end up looking like a 38 year old baby :D

I'm not a great fan of too much hairiness on women, I guess I'm just a victim of social conditioning ... soft hair that's barely visible is ok and a lack of pubes means no worries about getting hair in my teeth. :D I like the porno style where it's bald underneath with a little square on the top :p

  • my youngest said the other day ''eww mum whats that under your arms ?''.....i hadn't shaved and he'd never seen hair under there before:o

i love hairy chests and legs on men...it's nice to stroke and sniff :o well i like hairy men:harhar: ..good job too really:whistle:

:monster: reminds me of someone:whistle: ;)
